24 hours of driving lessons taken over a period from 1 to 8 weeks
DSA practical driving test fee
1 hour lesson immediately before the test
Hire of the training car for the practical driving test
What is not included
Two hour Introduction to Driving lesson. If you have not driven before, we advise
you to take this lesson before booking an intensive course so we can assess your
suitability. The intensive course is not the right choice for everyone. We suggest
taking the introduction lesson, going away and passing the theory test and then returning
for the full intensive course.
Any additional lessons needed to get you to test standard. Some people need additional
lessons, others do not. Your instructor will advise you near the end of the course.
This will depend entirely on your progress.
Theory test fee. You must pass your theory test before or soon after starting the
intensive course.
Re-test fees and additional lessons if you fail your first test.
Points to note
Your instructor will book your practical test after discussing it with you. If you
decide you want him to book the test before you have completed the course, there
is a risk that you will not be ready in time (dependant on your rate of learning).
If you are not ready, your instructor reserves the right to cancel your test or move
your test to another date. The DSA test fee will be lost if the test is cancelled
or moved within 3 working days of the test date. Students must repay this fee to
book a new test date.
Your instructor will attempt to make sufficient additional lessons available at the
end of the course to bring you to test standard but availability of lesson time is
not guaranteed. Additional lessons will be charged at the instructor's normal hourly
rates.
The best way to do the intensive is 7 x three hour lessons in a short period of time
and to be assessed at the end to see if a test should be booked. If your instructor
feels you have made sufficient progress a test can be booked while you go and get
lots of private practice. The final three hour session can then be used a week before
the test to correct any bad habits you have obtained.
Is it right for me?
It is important you realise that the intensive course is not the best way to learn
to drive. It is intended for those on a tight timescale.
The best way to learn is to take regular weekly lessons. This gives you time to absorb
information between lessons and study the theory materials before the next lesson.
The intensive course works best for those who can get additional practice their own
car (or with parents etc.).
